Welcome to the hidden and forgotten Denmark

Denmark has one of the world's largest collections of folklore and legends, involving everything from elves and mermaids to ghosts, UFOs, and many other curiosities that very few people know of today. These stories are often linked to specific places such as burial mounds, giant stones, and other geographical points of interest.

We are HidDenmark. Our name is a contraction of “Hidden Denmark,” and our goal is to continue the Danish tradition of legends and storytelling by offering an in-depth guide to the most fascinating places and stories across the Danish cultural and geographical landscape.

We wish you a good time exploring the site.
